Hiya Folks – hope all is good !!! I’m buzzing to finally share Oscar’s Big Trip Techno Mix, a brand new collection of tunes I’ve put together. Now that Havok is finally out of the way, Ripples is all wrapped up, and The Sacred Pizza Box List is sitting with my publisher, I’ve actually managed to grab a bit of breathing space. And with that rare bit of quiet, I’ve found the perfect moment to put together a brand new mix – Oscar’s Big Trip.
This one came about in a proper old‑skool way. While digging through the crates trying to find tunes for Havok’s 30th birthday, I ended up going far deeper than planned and when pulling all these forgotten gems together, I wanted Oscar’s Big Trip Techno Mix to feel like a proper journey. Beneath the obvious bangers and the tried‑and‑tested Havok favourites, I unearthed a stash of long‑forgotten gems – the kind of tracks that hide in plain sight. Many of these are B‑side killers and never‑played treasures tucked behind old Havok classics. Back in the day, I’d buy a vinyl, hammer the main track for weeks, and completely miss the beast lurking on the flipside. Other tunes got played once or twice, then bumped off the playlist by whatever monster landed next – but hey, such is life I suppose.
But when I started pulling these records out again, I realised just how much gold was sitting there untouched. These tunes aren’t leftovers – they’re absolute classics, albeit long-forgotten ones. More than worthy of their own spotlight, they’ve now been stitched together in true Beatle fashion for your listening pleasure. This mix is a proper journey: nostalgic, raw, unexpected, and full of that Havok spirit that refuses to fade.
Expect a heavier, pounding techno edge than most of my other CDs. This one leans into the darker corners of the crate, mixed straight from vinyl for that crackly, old‑skool Havok flavour. It’s rough, it’s real, and it’s exactly the kind of chaos that made Havok what it was.
Enjoy the chaos. Enjoy Life. Enjoy the Havok.
