Please enjoy some of these classic mixes from the Havok Archives…
We’ve dug back into the archives for this one, and it’s a real belter from Havok resident Nog, who manned the decks alongside Beatle and Medicine Man for many years. This mix features over an hour of high-energy techno and took some serious tracking down. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the track listing, but if you are a fan of labels such as Tinrib, VCF, Choci’s Chewns or TEC, then this will be right up your alley – Enjoy!

The Ceremony Is About To Begin…
This was probably the first techno mix Mick Beatle had done for many years and was done in preparation for the Havok 21st Birthday reunion bash. This is pretty much the set he played that night, give or take a few tweaks and features many Havok classics from the club’s history. Play loud !!!

With this mix, Mick Beatle once again combines his love of music and movies, capturing some of the Havok classics from 1999, layered with samples from the cult film of that year, The Blair Witch Project. Expect banging acid techno from artists such as Ramos, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Choci, and Mick Beatle himself—under his Charlie Don’t Surf pseudonym—with a bit of funky breaks thrown in at the end for good measure.

(Mick Beatle is…) Naked In Manchester
Something classic from deep within the Havok archives. Originally released as a free mix CD in the late 1990s, Mick Beatle’s, Naked in Manchester, features some classic tunes being cained at Havok during that time. Mick also incorporates his love of movies by including a fair few vocal samples from Mike Leigh’s acclaimed film, Naked.

Medicine Man – Hard Tribal Frequencies
Another excellent mix from Havok resident Medicine Man. This time, he delivers a serving of pure hard techno action—pounding beats, tribal analogue riffs and dirty grooves. The style leans more toward minimalism than his usual hard trance-influenced sets, but he’s still bringing the energy all the same.

Ask Mick Beatle, and he will happily tell you that he would never have become a DJ if it were not for the influence of the Chemical Brothers. In celebration of his admiration for the breakbeat duo, Mr. Beatle serves up a massive megamix of Chemical Brothers action running over four hours long — including classic remixes and rarities, even from their pre-Chemical Brothers days. This is an absolute monster!

(Mick Beatle has some) Unfinished Business
This mix offers something a little different from Mick Beatle, as all the tracks predate the very first Havok event and represent the tunes that made him fall in love with techno. These were all classics in their time and were regularly belted out by Rob Fletcher at the Herbal Tea Party and by Megadog’s resident DJ, Evolution. The first track on the CD, Infernal Aftershock by Innersphere, was indeed the very first track Mick played in a club—and the story at the beginning of the mix is true: he nearly blew the rig!

The subsequent mixes, Havok : Burn and Havok : Daze, are expected to be released by the end of the year. Grind emphasises the techno aspect of Havok, featuring a slightly slower BPM, less acid, and a bit more stomp compared to Mick Beatle’s usual mixes. This compilation includes unreleased tracks from Hans Delbruck, alongside tracks from the A & E Dept, Darc Marc, and the never commercially released Havok 27.
