The Tale of Havok 6
By the time we released the Lab 4 and A & E Dept. vinyls, Harry and Woody had returned to the studio and provided us with quite a selection for release. When we heard these four tracks, we simply could not choose among them. Fortunately, they were all short enough to fit all four onto a single vinyl. This is definitely my favourite of all the Repeater vinyl’s, simply because it captures their full range and the raw energy of the live sets they were performing at the time.

This Side – Explosive – Handle With Care !

This one is pretty obvious and refers to the name of the lead track and the EP’s title, Airbomb, while also tipping its hat to the explosive nature of all four tracks. Airbomb Repeater’s are also a popular type of firework that explode three or four times—four in this case!
That Side – Nonsense Is Better Than No Sense At All

This is a homage to the legendary Canadian punk trio, No Means No. Me, Harry and Woody were all big fans of No Means No, and up to this point, nearly every track to make it out of their studio onto Havok Records had a sneaky No Means No sample somewhere—whether it be a kick drum, snare, or cheeky bass line. The line ‘Nonsense Is Better Than No Sense At All‘ comes from the title track of their 1991 masterpiece, 0+2=1. That album and their earlier release, Wrong, are two of my favourite albums of all time. I would continue this tradition by sampling No Means No on nearly all my future Charlie Don’t Surf tracks.
