The Tale of Havok 7
We were pretty much flying at this point, with six solid releases under our belts from some really credible artists, Me and Medicine Man thought we’d pull rank and have another crack ourselves. Like the first E.P. we did together, this one also reflected the sounds we were both spinning in the club—Medicine Man playing techno with a hard trance edge, while I was still banging out the acid. The ‘Route 666’ sample on my side actually came from an old VHS videotape documenting classic London bus routes—yes, there is (or was) a Route 666 in England… now that’s my late-night bus home.

This Side – Bank Job, Traffic Jam, Stockings Or Coke Paranoia?

This is a strange etching, but it illustrates the various meanings of Hold Up, the title of Medicine Man’s second vinyl release. First, we have hold up as in a bank robbery, and then hold up like a traffic jam. Next, there are stockings (hold-ups), and finally, being holed up at home, suffering from cocaine paranoia—simple, really!
That Side – Satan’s Little Helper (Sick, Sick, Sex)

This is all a play on the title of the track, Route 666. As we all know, 666 is the number of the beast—or Satan, as he likes to be known. The first part is a piss-take of Bart Simpson’s dog, Santa’s Little Helper, while the Sick, Sick Sex is a simply a play on 666
